Well, that’s a tough one. Double Jeopardy serves a real purpose. The state SHOULD have made its case the first time around.

Simpson is a rich man…and he got a rich man’s justice.

The irony was seeing so many misguided poor and working people hailing this as some sort of victory.

Any regular person would’ve been convicted with the same evidence. We’re not going to get any “rich man’s justice” any time soon.

I hope this goes through. I have been hurt but not killed. It sounds like I am depreciateing what happened but I am not. I know how afraid you feel when your life is threatened. I know the ongoing effects. I think he may be a big guy. I know he thinks he is above reproach.

He is not above reproach. Shame won’t teach him. I think only God can. Surely the justice system didn’t.

I THINK EVERYONE WHO IS BOUND AND DETERMINED THAT OJ BE GUILTY SHOULD GET OVER IT. NO ONE HAS PROVED WITHOUT A SHADOW OF DOUBT THAT HE DID IT. THE MAN WILL BE JUDGED BY GOD, LIKE THE REST OF US, FOR WHAT HE DID OR DID NOT DO. I QUESTION THE THE BASIS FOR WHY SO MANY OF YOU WANT HIM TO BE GUILTY OF THE KILLINGS. AND JUST BECAUSE THERE ARE NO OTHER SUSPECTS IS NOT A GOOD ENOUGH REASON TO WANT TO MAKE HIM GUILTY. AND ONE LAST POINT THERE HAVE BEEN COPS WHO HAVE BEEN TAPED BEATING BLACK AND WHITE PEOPLE AND ALL THEY HAVE GOTTEN IS A SLAP ON THE WRIST OR NOTHING AT ALL. THERE ARE A LOT OF MURDERS BLACK AND WHITE THAT HAVE NOT BEEN SETTLED, YOU BLAMING ANYBODY FOR THAT? SO GET OVER IT LET THE MAN LIVE HIS LIFE IN PEACE IF HE CAN!

#40, sorry, but PLEASE! Perhaps your “fact” comes from the fact that you are projecting your feelings into what black women think about interracial relationships between white women and black men.

I am a black woman and have absolutely no problem with it (I’m also a human being and know it is human nature to like what you want to like and hate what you want to hate, but that’s another story for another time).

So, unless you poll all black women (or run a regression and get some statistically significant results) don’t confuse projection with fact.

As for OJ, of course he is guilty. I can think of no other person who would want to do this. However, for all of you people who are so outraged and bothered and angry, I have two things to say: 1.) Save your judgements for God, for those of you condeming him to hell, and what not, if he has asked for forgiveness then he will get it. 2.) I’m from mississippi and grew up in a sheriff dominated town. Trust me, I’ve heard or seen my share of whites killing blacks and walking away scott free, never even standing trial. I’m not trying to make any racial justification to excuse such a horrible crime but I do believe this verdict serves as some kind of wake up call and reminder of what really lies underneath.

I came to your site from a Christian site, so don’t know if you are Christian or not, but the Bible says: “Vengence is mine. I will repay.” OJ isn’t getting away with anything, and God is a lot better at vengence than we are.

It was stated today on Fox News that Judith Regan, the publisher, signed an agreement with a ‘third party’ and that the proceeds are to go to the children of Nicole Simpson. Supposedly, they also supported this project. If the Goldman’s try to get money from this then they will be accused of ‘taking it from their grandchildren!”

Also, Judith Regan said she did this due to a personal issue with a man that abused her. I find that a spurious explanation and will never purchase any book written or published by Judith Regan. I will not watch any programs with her on them from now on.

It’s disgusting.

“Oh please to those of you who say itâ€™s crazy the jury let him go because they didnâ€™t like his â€œwhiteâ€ wife or Marsha Clarke. Itâ€™s a fact black women do not like to see black men with white women. Thatâ€™s a FACT not a racist statement. I am a white woman married to black man for 30 years, so I know a little bit about what I speak of. If the prosecutor had been a black women she would have been railed as a â€œTomâ€™ just like Darden was by the black community.”

I know all about it too because I am a black man who dates white women and there is some truth to what you say, but i highly doubt that that played a factor in how the jury ruled. OJ left his black wife and married a white woman, so if black women on the jury was so mad at Marcia Clark because she was white, why didnt they punish OJ for leaving his black wife and marrying a white woman? I have heard black women complain about black professional athletes marrying white women, so why not punish OJ for this? Also, I always thought black people who were deep into the “keeping it real” saw OJ as an Uncle Tom, anyway. Especially, considering the fact that he was never a Jim Brown type of black professional athlete and he never said anything during the racial tensions in his day.
