T.C. Drywall Hires Illegal Aliens

T.C. Drywall, Inc., hires illegal aliens, in violation of U.S. immigration law. (Source: AP) I searched for this criminal enterprise on We Hire Aliens, found no entry, and submitted one. It’s a small act, but it’s something.

Now, on to the main topic. Every time I write about my waning support for the war in Iraq because of insecurity at home, I get e-mail from people trying in vain to convince me that one has nothing to do with the other. I say otherwise.

Earlier this week, six illegal aliens — who entered the U.S. by slipping past authorities, circumventing safeguards put in place to protect American citizens — were arrested at Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia. The illegal aliens had access to secured areas.

While these six people may not have posed a danger of the exploding aircraft variety, the fact that they had access to secured areas despite their intentions presages a scenario of nightmarish proportions. What if illegal aliens working on airplane engines and skulking around other secured areas are terrorists instead of people who just “come here to work?” What’s to stop Arabs disguised as Mexicans from crossing the border?

Nothing, apparently (and here).

What a joke! What’s especially irritating to me is having to go through mind-numbingly inane security lines with Transportation “Safety” Administration employees (whose methods of screening are inconsistent across different airports) where I have to take off my shoes, sweater or jacket, and submit myself to random searches and pack “liquids” in containers no larger than three ounces in quart-sized plastic bags, knowing illegal aliens — people who pose the real security risk, for crying out loud! — are working in areas I’d be arrested for venturing into accidentally…it’s madness!

And I resent the heck out of it every time I have to submit myself to it.

I’ve been in touch with Mike Maxwell, a former director of the Office of Security and Investigations, part of Citizenship and Immigration Service, and the stories he tells about his tenure there will fill the most hardened person with dread. I wrote a series on immigration for my Washington Examiner column. See “A nation of laws?,” “Senate immigration bill unfair to the law-abiding” and “The trouble with U.S. immigration policy.

For the 411 on slack government employees and policies in the immigration department, see My Kingdom for a Movie Ticket.

Illegal aliens working in sensitive areas of our nation’s airports probably is more common than we imagine. All I can do is raise awareness of the egregious problem on this blog and other publications, try to get air time on radio and TV to alert more people, vote for politicians committed to real homeland security, bombard open-borders politicians with letters and phone calls, expose companies that hire illegal aliens, and try to shame our president into enforcing immigration law with an iron fist.

What are you doing?

Rep. Bennie Thompson, the Mississippi democrat who will become Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee has THREATENED Cintas Corporation, the country’s largest uniform supplier, with criminal charges if they fire employees who have false social security numbers. He cites discrimination.
http://www.washtimes.com/national/20061128-122911-2961r.htm

This is the most blatant disregard for homeland security that I have seen. Cintas has not yet terminated any employees until they give the people a chance to clear up their ID issue, and they probably won’t now that they’ve been threatened by a bigwig homeland security congressman.

What have I done? Well, I have written every single one of my senators and congressman on multiple occasions about the illegal immigrant problem. Senator Brownback blew me off and he will NEVER get my vote again.

I’m trying to figure out what to do about this Cintas situation. I am furious with the gall of this incoming Mississippi congressman Bernie Thompson. I don’t live in Mississippi, but I think I will write, once again, to my own senators and congressmen and point this horrendous situation out to them.

I am flat furious with our lawmakers and Bush who will not listen to the people, but instead cater to businesses who hire cheap, illegal labor. But this situation with the incoming chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee is the last damn straw.

Any business that hires illegal aleins should face fines and boycotts.

Andy 12.01.06 at 10:54 am

La Shawn, you’re absolutely right. We go thru stupid PC-centric controtions designed to inconvenience the law-abiding citizen to ensure that the illegals are not impigned in any way from doing whatever it is that they’re doing.

I predict that sooner or later it will blow up. If the govt can’t do what it is mandated to do–protecting its citizens, there will be a backlash. Cassandra-ish? Hardly, just a fact of human nature.

This is one of the issues that’s killing the GOP!

Even the normally sound WSJ supports amnesty for illegal aliens, opining that, “None of the 9/11 hijackers crossed the Rio Grand.”

No, they merely overstayed student visas. Now with those harder to get and abuse, is the WSJ claiming the jihadists are too dumb to see another gaping hole in our security?

Based on WHAT?!

They sure saw the first security gap well enough to exploit it!

But illegal immigration isn’t merely a security problem. It’s an economic bomb, as well.

When U.S. employers import cheap (illegal) foreign workers because they can pay them far less than Americans, that puts a persistent, downward pressure on ALL wage rates. Yes, first and primarily low-skilled and unskilled wage rates, but over time on ALL other wage rates as well, because as the bottom wage rates fal, it eventually brings the ceiling lower as well.

THIS is the issue on which BOTH major political Parties have abandoned the American people…and they continue to abandon them.

According to analysts, “One of the “good” things about the Democratic takeover of the House & Senate is that President Bush may get his “compromise Bill” on immigration” – meaning no funding for the fence and yes to amnesty/guest worker programs.

It’s not just a “bad deal” all around…it’s a disastrous deal.

suek 12.01.06 at 12:30 pm

>>THIS is the issue on which BOTH major political Parties have abandoned the American people…and they continue to abandon them.>>

I don’t think I agree with you on the lowering wage rates, but I _do_ agree with you that both parties have abandoned the people. I have three conditions that I think would eventually end poverty in the world..
1) the right of private ownership secure from government seizure without due process.
2) rule of law which I define as a body of laws that apply to _all_ people even if they are in positions of wealth and power.
3) enforcement of those laws against corruption, which I define as selective enforcement of laws.

When the executive branch is not enforcing the laws made by congress, and the congress doesn’t demand laws being enforced, then there is effectively no law. If you have no law, you end up with chaos.
Just as we have activist judges who usurp the function of the legislators, we have a body of legislature that wants to usurp the function of the President, but doesn’t want to do the job it’s supposed to do. Everybody needs to do their assigned job for a democracy (ok – republic) to work. And that includes the president.

I think we’re in trouble. Can it be fixed? If so, how?

Heather in MD 12.01.06 at 1:41 pm

They are not going to do anything about border security until a terrorist attack occurs that they learn happend because the terrorists came from across the border.

Then and only then will they do something.

You are so right La Shawn It is so frustrating knowing there is nothing we can do it is to late. The liberals of the past have set the stage for our downfall. It is such a shame when the illegals and the law breakers and even terrorist have more rights then your average law abiding citizen. Just like the law breaking illegals running across the boarder many just to have children become citizens our laws our stacked against us. We have allowed so many in this country and still refuse to build a wall to keep them out. Just because the law passed to build it how long will our government drag its feet allowing many thousands maybe millions more cross. Then we have the problem with Muslims Yes I say problem with Muslims because it is a fact in their book that they read it tells them to lie to deceive the non believers Then to destroy to kill all of them We have made allies of countries who in fact in time will bring our country down. The whole world is so afraid of upsetting the Muslims that just like Hitler they will sit by and do nothing until it is to Late. This is a sad sad truth that no one will stop. Thank you La Shawn for trying to help wake up people but It is to late. fromano1@hotmail.com

La Shawn, I echo your frustration and couldn’t agree more.

Gregor 12.02.06 at 11:32 am

Any business that hires illegals should face MORE than fines and boycotts.

They should automatically have their license withdrawn. I don’t care if it’s Mable’s Pancake House or Donald Trump! End of business.

Imagine if ELF were on our side on this one. Problem solved.

Mary Burke 12.02.06 at 11:36 am

I do NOT understand the complacency of many Americans to this problem. I am incensed that this is allowed to continue. If I lost one of my family members to one of these Illegal criminals either through drunk driving(recent marine killed) or murder (Adrienne Shelley)you couldn’t keep me off the White House steps! I was so mad reading yesterday Harry Reids’ comments about starting to push their “comprehensive” immigration which is obviously amnesty and carte blanche to any and all to” come on down to the USA”. What kind of suckers are we to continue to take this assault by foreign invaders.I was so furious I called Reids’ comment line and let it rip….I’d be willing to bet they hear that day and night and yet STILL push for this incredibly catastrophic move for this country. It is obvious they do NOT care what Americans think. Which leads me to believe that Bush’ talk of security via Iraq is Hogwash and that the plan for the North American Union is the ONLY thing that explains this chaotic situation. I HOPE the American people wake up before it too late!

Tomb Z 12.02.06 at 11:49 am

I propose we hire illegal aliens for the department of Citizenship and Immigration Services.

We’d get the same degree of effectiveness and it’s probably cost us a lot less.

JMK 12.02.06 at 11:51 am

“I don’t think I agree with you on the lowering wage rates, but I _do_ agree with you that both parties have abandoned the people.” (suek)

Suek, there’s absolutely NO question that illegal immigration puts a profound and persistent downward pressure on wage rates.

First, illegal immigrants who’ll work for less than Americans can afford lower the wage rates of those low-skilled and unskilled jobs, driving the rest of the Americans out.

With the lao-skilled/unkilled wage rate, or the “wage rate floor” so lowered, there’s increasing pressure to reduce ALL other wage rates as well.

Your three step plan is good, so far as it goes, but you overlook the human condition. There are a small, but substantial number of people who are inherantly self-destructive – impulsive, reckless and irresonsible and these people tend to be poor and remain poor despite whatever measures are taken to remedy their poverty externally.

Border enforcement is vital to this issue and so is heavilly fining those companies and individuals who knowingly hire illegal aliens, by refusing to do proper background screenings.

lumberjack 12.02.06 at 12:29 pm

Let the Middle East fall into chaos because we aren’t doing a good enough job with homeland security? That’s like ignoring a plumbing leak because your roof is leaking as well. You need to fix BOTH. And how would quitting Iraq help with homeland security? You want troops in the airports? You think it will free up more money? It isn’t a question of money; it’s a question of will. We need commitment to Iraq AND homeland security, not Iraq OR homeland security.

Michael 12.02.06 at 12:43 pm

Isolationism never works. We can do both; kill the bad guys in Iraq AND build the wall and catch illegals here. We ENFORCE laws and fine businesses and apartment complexes etc for doing business with illegals. The politicians need to be harangued non-stop because the illegals actually appeal to them on both sides. The Dems see future union members, i.e. voters and the Republicans see cheap labor i.e. donations and support from the business community. They will NOT help us until we let them know.

Update: Community Lawn Service with a Heart, a company in the Boston, hires illegal aliens. Incidentially, Republican Mitt Romney, governor of Massachusetts, used the company’s services.” (Lashawn Barber)

That’s all true, but Romney contracted with a legitimate landscaping company. It’s the responsibility of Community Lawn Service With a Heart to check he background of its employees not their customers.

The Boston Globe (owned by the NY Times) blamed Romney for “hiring illegal alirns, despite his strong stance on border security,” implying hypocrisy on Romney’s part, and as usual the NY Times and their organs are completely wrong.

Community Lawn Service With a Heart should be fined heavilly for (1) hiring undocumented/illegal aliens and (2) hiring workers off the books sans benefits, withholding taxes, and FICA taxes…but their clients, including Mitt Romney are not to blame for their screw-ups &/or crimes.

Frankly Opinionated 12.02.06 at 4:47 pm

U.S. Reprehensive Bobby Thompson, Mississippi, (as noted at Michelle Malkins), has threatened Cintas Corp for doing its part to follow up on ID thieves and Social Security scammers including illegal Immigrants. He is saying that Cintas cannot obey the law, that he’ll have them for other charges. As noted in many comments- politicians from both parties are guilty, either by creating this mess, or by profiting from it. fYou have your belief as to which party, and I do as well. We are both off the mark, it is not one party or the other, not at all, it is self-serving politicians. All of them! Why would a good, smart citizen of any particular district, want to leave his home of choice to go to Washington and live? It’s the money! I am 66 years old and utterly disgusted with the lack of represtation that we citizens get. This is a nation of majority rule, and all others can fit in as best they can. It is that easy. Politicians hawk this teaser, or that teaser, pandering themselves at every opportunity. With the recent elections Washington was shown, (but most didn’t see), that Conservatism is alive and well with the voters. About all the conservative issues passed, but it was the non-conservative politicians who got whacked. The “Contract With America” of 1994, offered and signed by “them”, was breached from the start, and we Americans, replyed to them, keeping our conservative values, and tossing them. We must do the same with Immigration, make your person in the House of Reprehensives, truly represent you.
There’s more’n just Meskins coming across the Rio Grande!

The sleeping giant is now in a coma as far as illegal immigration is concerned.

I live in HOUSTON, & I go to the gun shows here & have noticed HISPANICS ( who don’t speak ENGLISH ) buying a LARGE QUANTITY of FIREARMS & AMMUNITION. How many innocent MEN, WOMEN, & CHILDREN would be KILLED if these NON-AMERICANS were to try to take over HOUSTON, before the POLICE or the ARMED FORCES would be called to stop them? I cannot find a better paying job because the companies are GREEDY & hire cheap labor instead of hiring someone with experience. If your listeners don’t have GUNS & AMMO to PROTECT THEMSELVES they are only going to become TARGET PRACTICE for the ILLEGAL ALIENS ! ! ! WAKE UP AMERICA, YOUR GOVERNMENT is like a CANCER that needs to be CUT OUT. WE THE PEOPLE needs to RISE UP & stop paying ATTENTION to the DISTRACTIONS that the MEDIA is shoving down our throats. If WE THE PEOPLE were to get INVOLVED like we do about SPORTS, SOAP OPERAS, & many other DISTRACTIONS, the GOVERNMENT would not be able to get away with DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY. If WE THE PEOPLE was to camp out in front of the CONGRESSMENS house, call them at their house 24/7, confront them at the supermarket, store, & when they go the BATHROOM, I think they would be FORCED into MAKING THE RIGHT DECISIONS for OUR COUNTRY!!!!!! So all WE need to do is to WAKE-UP.

We now have a two tiered judicial system. One for law-abiding citizens who must comply with laws, and a second for illegal aliens and gang members who can flaunt our laws, threaten and kill honest citizens and get away with it. Worse, if anyone questions their status or law breaking, they are labeled racist. NO. The illegal aliens are not only illegal, but racist themselves. Time to call a spade a spade.

alexa kim 12.02.06 at 8:01 pm

I have been banging this drum for a long time now, too. I’m first generation American, mother born in Mexico who married an American and did the hard work required to become a citizen. If she could do it, so can everyone else. I left California partly because it has simply become an annex of Mexico, and LA is just another Mexico City, with a horrific homeless problem, but guess what? Texas is worse. Why? Because Texas is very pro-business and people here will look the other way in order to hire anyone they want and make money no matter who it hurts. They will openly demand you be bilingual in Spanish (not just any bilingualism will do) or you can’t get the job. In America. In Texas. It’s sickening. We are losing America. We are losing. And it’s happening in my lifetime. I’m genuinely afraid that the America everyone wants a piece of is dying.

Messenger 12.03.06 at 12:36 am

I was so upset when I heard the news of actress, Adrienne Shelly’s death at the hands of an illegal alien. I also posted this same message on her husband’s blog, The Ostroy Report. The subject of illegal immigration must be considered along with its negative and devastating consequences. Adrienne Shelly, along with thousands of others, was a victim because of it. I am a nine year veteran of the U.S. Border Patrol and I believe that it is my duty to speak the truth about illegal immigration, and to speak about many facts that the general public will never hear from television news and newspaper reports. From my personal experience with the Border Patrol, I believe that mass illegal immigration, not terrorism, is the most serious threat to the United States and its citizens. I spent two years on a special unit (BORCAP) in which we sought out criminal aliens in the local jails. Our seven-man unit was overwhelmed with the sheer numbers of criminal aliens that we encountered during our daily jail inspections. The most common crimes? Murder, Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault of a Minor, Aggravated Assault, Assault, Domestic Violence, Possession of a CS, DWI, and the lowly PI or Public Intoxication. We were only able to deport or prosecute approximately 150 criminal aliens each month, and that was only from our Border Patrol station alone. Additionally, the number of criminal alien gang members that we encountered was increasing at an alarming rate (i.e. Mara Salvatrucha, Mexican Mafia, La Hermandad de los Pistoleros, etc.). Illegal immigration is not just some victimless crime; there are thousands of victims out there and the human and fiscal costs associated with illegal immigration are growing each and every year. It’s true that for every illegal alien we apprehend, another ten or more get by and make it to the interior of the United States. We were also forced to release hundreds of OTM (Other Than Mexican) aliens each month due to a lack of detention space. These OTM aliens were given Notices to Appear in which about one percent actually appeared for their Immigration Hearings. The rest were lost forever in the interior of the United States. So please, join together and demand that our politcians (Tom Tancredo is the one that truly understands the nature of the problem. His book, “In Mortal Danger,” is a must read.) do something before it really is too late!

The following is a link to one (just one!) prison inmate listing in Cameron County, Texas (Carrizalez-Rucker Detention Center). The list includes the photos, the charge(s), and other information about the prison inmates. Inmates that we have interviewed will have the notice, “BORCAP Detainer,” “Hold for BORCAP,” or “Immigration Detainer,” included with their charges, which means that they are illegal aliens. We are only able to get to a small fraction of the inmate population because there are so many new inmates being brought in each day, which we often get to first. Hopefully, this will shed some more light on the illegal immigration situation.

Dear La Shawn:

I grew up working in the orchards and fields side by side with migrant workers. Back then there was no problem in regards to ‘illegals’; they were hardworking, god fearing family people, and many of those who settled in the States became some of our best, most patriotic citizens.

Two issues changed this: 1) Greedy unethical employers; and 2) Drugs.

A generation after I last worked in the orchards I went out one summer with friends who wanted to earn some money during their summer vacation doing what they had done, and were very good at doing, years before. It was an eye opener. We’d stop at an orchard and half the time the owner wouldn’t even talk to us. Why? Because we weren’t hispanic. Most of the hiring was done through ‘contractors’ who supplied all the workers and who took care of all the field operations and payroll disbursements, leaving the owner with nothing to do but haul off the picked fruit and make one payment to the contractor. The ‘employees’ were ‘illegals’, generally individuals, unlike the old days of family based units, crammed to the gills in cheap motel rooms. The wages being paid were almost the exact same wages that had been paid fifteen years earlier, although the produce certainly wasn’t being sold for the old prices. I finally got tired of the nonsense and went fishing for the rest of my vacation.

So, suek and other like minded individuals, La Shawn is absolutely correct regarding the lowering effect on wages and the reasons behind why many citizens who don’t mind getting their hands dirty or working hard outdoors won’t bother anymore.

I’m not going to bother getting into the drug related issues, mainly because you could write books on it. Lets just say that as far as I am concerned this is the real issue that should be looked at if you want to really understand the failure to control the border. There is too much money to be made, and I mean by everyone.

The Angry Independent 12.03.06 at 5:44 am

Lashawn,

What do you think about your fellow Conservatives (Republicans) who use illegal aliens as cheap labor for their companies? Do you agree with tougher punishment for the business owners who hire illegals? (And keep in mind, that it’s not just the issue of citizenship…these companies and individuals often pay these workers lower than the minimum wage, pay in cash & are not reporting them for taxes, and are not paying into the State workers comp systems….all violations of various laws….).

Should these business owners be fined and locked up in your opinion?

And that Bennie Thompson comment at the top just makes me fume…. This is what I hate about Democrats… But i’ll wait a while before I will judge them…. the new Congress doesn’t start until next month. But most Democrats are not like Thompson….

Dems often get accused of being soft on security, etc…Conservatives tend to have a short memory.
(Personally I think both parties are lacking when it comes to security. Neither party wants to do enough…neither wants to do what is needed to bring more security to this country).

But with that said… remember..

#1. After 9/11 it was Democrats who fought for government control of passenger screening. Republicans fought like heck against the idea. Republicans wanted to leave that in the hands of the airlines and private contractors who pay rock bottom wages.

#2. Democrats fought for more screening of Domestic baggage at airports. Republicans were not in favor.

#3. Democrats (years ago) wanted more border patrol agents. Bush finally gave in just recently….

#4. The Port Deal. It was Democrats who stirred up the fuss that eventually sank the Republican plan to sell our Ports to foreign interests. (I think the mid term elections had something to do with that issue as well… I don’t think people forgot about that one…. as forgetful as Americans are).

#5. The 9/11 Commission. It was Democrats who fought for that Commission… And Democrats support most of the Recommendations of that Commission. Why is this important. Well… it’s important to investigate the event so that you can identify weaknesses, best practices, etc….so that you can formulate policy. You must have an assessment of what’s going on before you can put a good strategy together. Republicans didn’t even want to put the commission together.

#6. Energy Independence. This is the number one underlying & fundamental issue of which our anti-terror strategies and diplomatic efforts in the Middle East are based. If we can take care of this issue…. we will then be able to deal with the other issues from a far better position. From our current position of energy dependence, we are politically, economically, diplomatically and militarily shackled.

The Republicans are not really in favor of energy independence for the U.S. Why? Because Republicans (esp. the Bush team) are heavily allied with and connected to the oil industry… In fact, this administration is more connected to the oil industry than any other in recent history. They say publicly that they want to be free from dependence on foreign energy, etc… but behind the scenes, they are working in the interests of the oil companies…. (an industry in which many of the players in the Bush administration were and are a part of). Bush’s idea of oil independence is attacking countries that have oil so that we can then be independent, lol. The concept of alternative energy, etc….just isn’t on their agenda. They have basically done a few photo ops…. but they are really not in favor of doing anything about this problem.

Democrats however, are more visionary on this issue and see the bigger picture… They see the danger of being dependent on foreign energy.
This is why they are pushing for alternative fuels…and making a real effort at changing our foreign energy dependent culture.

This is one of the most important issues of our time. It’s the Manhattan Project….the New Deal of the present day…. that’s the kind of urgency that it should have…

Chuck Helton 12.03.06 at 7:41 am

With the percentage of American’s who are upset with the illegal alien invasion and at our Government’s inability to enforce laws already on the books or to just shut down the border one would think we as constituents could force the hand that feeds them but after our recent elections it becomes evident that most of us are just full of hot air and nothing more than gripe about the situation.
Why not “Be all you can be” by joining up with the Minuteman project or the Federation for American Immigration Reform, Roy Beck with Numbers USA does a superb job letting you get involved through fax and phone. There are a number of groups involved in this debate so involve yourself and join today.

Daniel Medley 12.03.06 at 2:00 pm

The Angry Independent,

Let us not forget that, generally, the Democrats have vehemently opposed the notion of valid ID checks at polling stations as well.

The Angry Independent 12.03.06 at 3:23 pm

Daniel,

That’s actually not true….

Republicans use that as a tool for disinfranchising voters…

What Dems oppose is ID laws that would disproportionately impact the poor and elderly.

Dems are not against ID laws for voting per se…. The position of most Dems is that if we are to have such a requirement, then there must be a way to make sure that everyone has the ID that wants one or needs one. Access should be easy.

In most of the Republican proposals, access and proper distribution of the ID was not guaranteed…. and the issue of what type of ID would be o.k. was too restrictive.

In the cases of Missouri and Georgia (two of the major voter ID cases this year), it was pretty clear what Republicans were trying to do, and that is why judges in both cases struck down the laws…. they were basically Republican political attempts to impact the outcome of elections in their favor….it really had little to do with a fair voter ID system.

Read the situation in Georgia, where there were only a handful of places in the State to get the ID and it was harder to get an ID in the Atlanta area (where the most poor, the most minorities, and the most elderly reside in one place). Voters were required to travel several miles to find the location…. something that the poor and people without a car could not do.

The Georgia law was a pretty clear political move by Republicans. Had nothing to do with a fair & comprehensive voter ID system (which most Dems support).

Maybe someone would be kind enough to post an article about the Georgia voter ID case….I don’t have the time… but it was outrageous what they were doing there.

JMK 12.03.06 at 5:18 pm

“#4. The Port Deal. It was Democrats who stirred up the fuss that eventually sank the Republican plan to sell our Ports to foreign interests. (I think the mid term elections had something to do with that issue as well… I don’t think people forgot about that one…. as forgetful as Americans are).” (AI)

Actually the Dubai Ports deal was first and most vehemently opposed by Conservatives, like Michael Savage and Rush Limbaugh (Hannity & O’Reilly supported it) and Conservative Pols like Long Island’s Pete King.

To date, virtually NONE of our ports are managed by U.S. companies, as there’s not enough profit in it for U.S. concerns.

Moreover, Dubai still helps the U.S. train Iraqi police and soldiers, and inspects cargo destined for America while it’s in foreign ports.

None of that had anything near the impact that America’s vehement opposition to illegal immigration did on the most recent elections.

The “Moderate-wing” of the GOP wants that cheap labor, while the Dems think more immigrants = more votes.

Of the two stances on that issue, the Dem’s stance is the more foolish by far, as all those devout, socially Conservative Catholics from places like Mexico and the Phillipines are not going to be voting for secular progressive Dems once esconced here.

In fact, second generation Mexicans follow the voting patterns of most other ethnic Catholics, voting in more Conservative candidates.

The Democrats were moved hard Right and back toward the center last month when some 31% of evangelical Christians voted for “New (mostly Conservative) Dems,” like North Carolina’s Heath Schuler.

While the “cheap labor” argument is horrible , both economically and security-wise, the open borders for “diversity’s sake” is even more disastrous.

Oh, and Daniel Medley is right in that Democrats opposed a Georgia plan for FREE voter ID cards, complete with photo units that would visit poor areas to assure everyone got a free picture ID.

In fact, Georgia is one of seven states that now request to see a photo ID beofre one votes and all of these are accepted forms of ID in GA:

Any of the following are acceptable, provided they contain a photograph of the elector:

Georgia driver’s license

Georgia voter ID card (available for free to registered electors who do not have a valid driver’s license or state-issued ID card)

ID card issued by the state of Georgia, any entity of the state, any other state or the federal government

I also moved out of L.A. because it is like living in Mexico,i know i lived in Mexico for three years!…this is a fact from 1970/1973 the hi school teens were taught,”go to the U.S.A. and take back what was stolen from Mexico”,GO AND TAKE IT BY FORCE,HOW! BY HAVING YOUR CHILDREN THERE..it is your land DON’T COPY THE LONG HAIR DRUGGIES,GO WORK LIKE THE GRINGOS LEARN THEIR WAYS AND TAKE IT OVER!IT CAN BE DONE.

that was almost thirty years ago and here it is,a fact they have taken over..what i don’t understand is why has the government closed their ears and eyes to this situation,California voted in prop 187 it was to stop the border crossings of illegals, it was taken to court by the ACLU and booted out.our vote meant nothing….America the beautiful has fallen….AND IT MAKES ME CRY, I LOVE MY COUNTRY.
WHY WAS I IN MEXICO..HELPING FLOOD VICTIMS AND BUILDING HOUSES…

What Dems oppose is ID laws that would disproportionately impact the poor and elderly.

Bullsquat.
Georgia’s law provided for the state to drive directly to the home of any prospective voter upon request and provide them with the requirements for an ID. No charge, no leaving of the house, no nothing save for contacting the gov’t & asking for the service.

Alas, that task is STILL too much to ask (maybe if they throw in a few food stamps & a welfare check everything will be hunkey-dorey?). Whatever, but please, don’t try the Dem talking points when it comes to Georgia: won’t wash, no matter how many times you try.

I don’t think the update on Romney is fair. So what are we supposed to do – question every Mexican working on our yard or in our house? I just had a house built. I would come over from time to time and see Mexicans doing the drywall or the tile. I thought about quizzing my builder who was a dream of a guy, but I didn’t. I thought what should I do – ask to see their green card? Several of them couldn’t speak English and I knew, deep down, they weren’t legal but as angry as I am about illegal immigration, I didn’t say anything.

I don’t know if I’m madder at myself or the feds. Why should I have to take the law into my own hands? Or, should I?

The Illegal immegration problem is NOT IMPORTANT because AMERICANS are MORE INTERESTED in SOAP OPERA’S, FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, BASKETBALL, STOCK CAR RACING , & many other DISTRACTIONS. While everyone is being ENTERTAINED by their FAVORITE SPORTS HERO, OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS are being CUT OUT OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. BY WHO ? OUR TRUSTWORTHY ELECTED OFFICIALS. WE the PEOPLE need to WAKE-UP, & TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY, BEFORE( if it is not too late ) our GOVERNMENT turns AMERICA into A NEW WORLD ORDER. The I. A. ( ILLEGAL ALIEN ) PROBLEM was created by OUR GOVERNMENT, so the only way to solve the I.A. problem is to CLEAN UP OUR GOVERNMENT. WE the PEOPLE has the POWER, the MAJORITY, & from what WE have seen from the TRACK RECORD of our CONGRESSMEN , SENATORS & the PRESIDENT ( sorry I know, but HE does hold the TITLE ), WE have more INTELIGENCE than most of them do. The MAIN HURDLE that AMERICANS need to get OVER is to stop ALL of the FIGHTING on the ISSUES & instead, AGREE on A GOAL & work TOWARDS IT TOGETHER. We are FIGHTING each other over RACE, RELIGION, & POWER. While the GOVERNMENT is LAUGHING at us behind closed doors. HOW MANY of “WE” are there in AMERICA compared to the GOVERNMENT? I REFUSED to VOTE DEMOCRATE or REPUBLICAN this last ELECTION, I VOTED LIBERTERIAN because of their GOALS are FOUNDED ON THE CONSTITUTION. ARE YOUR RIGHTS IMPORTANT ? IF SO , STOP BEING A CHRONIC COMPLAINER, or a BACK SEAT POLITICAL ANALYSTS, & WAKE-UP & GET INVOLVED.

I appreciate your feedback, Charles, but next time, take it easy with the CAPS, please. – Admin

DESPITE thopusands of Amerticans getting involved in stopping Illegal Immigration through NUMBERSUSA and Minutemen etc the Congress and the President are willfully IGNORING the wishes of the people. They are beholden not to the people but to the Corporate traitors who have bought them off. As far as the Dems like Ted Kennedy they want the votes and desire a socialist state. Bush , I believe is working toward a North American Union so he is letting these hordes invade our country to push for this joining of the Canadian,Mexican and US governments. I truly believe that is his plan. There is no other logical reason for Bush to allow this to continue unabated. He is doing this without consent of the Congress or the American people. I never thought I would think or say this about him, but his actions are like those of a dictator. He is doing to this country what he wants to do. In past history this would prompt a revolution ala “taxation without representation”. I think Americans should refuse to file Federal taxes en masse until he SECURES the border for real. His claims now with Chertoff are plain old lies and a smokescreen meant to quell the outrage Americans feel about the anarchy that is taking over this country. I am madder than I have ever been. Yet many Americans do not care or don’t believe it. I fear it will be too late when they finally wake up!
