Update (9:59 a.m.) – Plans for 2007:
- Recapturing that on-fire-for-the-Lord attitude I used to have.
- Engaging in deeper and more meaningful Bible study; necessary for understanding the nature of the God I worship and for defending the faith.
- New site design – I’ve had this one for two and a half years. It’s time!
- More off-blog publishing – Stay tuned for links!
- More faith-based posts – Less political pontificating, more guidance on living the Christian life.
- More linking to Christian resources (bloggers, sites, news stories)
- Polishing and sending that book proposal!
- Other stuff I’ll expand on later…

Happy New Year from Korea I will be back in the US in June!
Happy New Year to La Shawn, and to the commenters and readers at this superb weblog.
God Bless!!
Happy New Year, La Shawn!
Happy New Year, La Shawn! May our Lord bless you and all of us in this coming year. May He grant us renewal and revival in the face of the spirit of this age!
Happy New Year back at you. Here is hoping that some more paying sites pick up your writing. You deserve some payment, the world would be better if your message was more widely heard.
Happy New Year, One and All! Best wishes for La Shawn Barber’s Corner!
La Shawn
On call New Year’s Eve, young man hopped up on drugs shot multiple times. Not much change for this type for the new year.
I am just thankful that, with people like you, there is hope.
Keep up the good work for the New Year.
Happy New Year Lashawn, and God bless you.
Happy New Year LaShawn! You rock! And I enjoy your political pontificating as much as I enjoy your faith explorations… how about just doing twice as much blogging? hee!
I hope I get to meet you in person someday.
God bless you!!
I like your resolutions, LaShawn.
It’s so easy to let Christ go from the center to the periphary of our lives without even realizing it. Many of your faith-based resolutions are mine also.
I wish you all the best in 2007.
Here’s to a God Blessed New Year for LaShawn and all the readers of this blog.
HNY to La Shawn and readers-
“Recapturing that on-fire-for-the-Lord attitude I used to have.”
I know you aren’t chasing the emotion, La Shawn, as we live by faith and not feeling. I’ve been a Christian for nearly 30 years, and I know that even when I felt dampered down, like I was not on fire, God continued to work in my life just the same.
May God continue to Bless you, La Shawn, and I look forward to checking out your Corner in 2007-I’m about due for a site makeover, too.
LB,
A great book for you to read: “The Divine Conspiracy” by Dallas Willard. In my opinion, if Christians read just one book a year (besides the Bible), this is the one.
God bless,
TP
Happy New Year LaShawn! (and everybody!)
I wish you the best New Year that will bring you health, happiness, success, and all that is good in 2007.
LaShawn and everyone here — have a very peaceful and prosperous 2007!
Happy New Year!!!
I was hoping to see “running for office” somewhere in that list…
What a blessing this blog is. LaShawn Barber’s deep faith in God and the blessings Jesus Christ has given us is awesome.
Happy New Year, La Shawn! I look forward to enjoying another wonderful year at La Shawn Barber’s Corner. God Bless you and yours during this new year!
May God continue to bless you, La Shawn!!!
I am looking forward to your new posts! Your resolutions are similar to mine.
God bless you. Happy new year!
Happy New Year to all! I second Tony’s nomination of Willard’s The Divine Conspiracy. It is one of the few books which I feel changed my entire outlook on life. I actually clicked on this link to recommend it. Further, if you are looking for excellent apologetics material, check out http://www.tektonics.org/ and anything by William Lane Craig (virtual office: http://www.leaderu.com/offices/billcraig/index.html).
Happy New Year to La Shawn and all her readers. May her blog and all blogs continue to grow in influence and excellence. I hate to disagree with La Shawn but I think her blog and others and their readers DID keep those Duke men out of jail. I only regret that we couldn’t keep their families from having to spend so much money on lawyers. If justice prevails they will be able to recover some or all of that money–or maybe even more money.
What a great set of plans for the New Year. May God bless them all.
Happy New Year, LaShawn. May the Lord bless you and yours and all the readers and commenters of your blog!
Happy New Year, everyone, everywhere!
(That’s a lot of people!)
My New Year’s Resolution is Prayer, and lot’s of it.
I vow to Pray everday, which should be easy, because I’d already been doing daily prayer for much of last year.
I’ve got the prayer thing down.
I wonder if that’s a true resolution, though. –Resolving to do something that you are already doing anyway.
Perhaps something a bit more challenging?
Prayer comes easy for me.
The tough thing, for me, is actual Bible Study.
Maybe it’s all about rewards. I’ve seen the rewards of Prayer.
I’ve heard that Bible-reading yields rewards too.
Happy New Year and many thanks for your kindness in sharing your commitment to excellence and brilliance. Thanks to you I am (at least I hope I am) smarter and better than I was a year ago. And how many 64 year olds can say that with complete honesty?
My best wishes to you and yours for the blessings of God, health, happines, prosperity and safety in the coming year!
In 2007 I pray that folks cease providing partial information, misrepresentations and half truths about BLACK FOLKS.
Happy New Year! and good luck with your plans. They sound good…I keep promising myself to get started on that book…still a long way off from polishing proposals, though.
