People who senselessly kill other people are murderers irrespective of their race or their poor, oppressed past. In my book, people who enable or justify these behaviors for any reason are accomplices. Our society is at risk if this mentality continues.

If it’s true that if we forget our history we shall repeat it, than we need to not only teach our children and learn ourselves about our own culture, but what we MUST include first and foremost in that teaching, God as our only Savior, God as our Provider, God as our Deliverer. I believe that the fact that we have replaced the Lord with the Government in these and many other roles, causes a regression into where we have come from. But this time it is a slave mentality that our culture embraces everytime we look to government to swoop down and give us another program to save our children from the streets, or to give us a little bit of money, which they take back with the other.

But I’m not just talking about looking to the “whites”, I’m talking about any race, religion, sexual orientation, or half-naked booty shaking so-called entertainer put in front of the Lord. How much longer are we going to give our allegiance and money to sports teams, ignoring the Lord’s desire to to be our personal MVP? How much longer will we “go get our freak, or drink, or groove on” on Friday and Saturday nights, and then use Sunday to relax. I realize that not everyone is going to get saved, but the Lord told us to teach our children the Word when we lie down, get up, walk along the road, and to write His Word on the tablets of their hearts.

He takes care of the salvation part, but if we would diligently TEACH and LEARN the WORD of GOD as He told us to that’s where we find success. That’s where our salvation came from in the past, and it’s the only hope of salvation we can count on today.

My family background left race out of the equation. Race was not something discussed in my family because it was not unusual to talk to my Pakistani uncle before he handed the phone to my Puerto Rican aunt. I’m not obsessed with race at all. Race differences and the hierarchy of shade of skin was a system thrust upon us. If you think it doesn’t matter to some conservatives, you’re kidding yourself. They couldn’t even let Halle Berry enjoy her groundbreaking Oscar win (though I disagreed with the Academy’s choice) without bringing up her white mother as though that disqualified her from being black. We didn’t create the “one drop of blood” rule. Race and the misery it brings to this country was created to keep slavery in place.

My advice is to take “race” and stuff it up the chimney. Why should any child have to be challenged to identify his racial difference? Does Ernie on Sesame Street care? Does Barney care? Does the Lord care?

The continuation of “race” makes a contest out of divisions within the human race.

My family tree and the fruits of it are not racially pure either. Do I believe that one tone of skin is superior or inferior to another? Only to the extent that I have bought into the snake oil promoted by the race pimps.

In the end, we either choose our bugaboos or we confidently ignore them.
