Saturday, February 3: Thanks for the BlogHer shout out, Professor Kim!

Later this month, I plan to live-blog from the Scooter Libby trial. For the first time, the District Court in D.C. has credentialed bloggers as members of the media to cover a trial.

Irving Lewis Libby was a former aide to Vice President Richard Cheney. In 2005 he was indicted on charges of obstruction of justice, perjury, and making false statements in an investigation of the supposed outing of Valerie Plame as an undercover agent of the Central Intelligence Agency.

I haven’t blogged about Libby or Plame or Judith Miller, the reporter held in contempt of court for refusing to testify, but I decided to take advantage of the Media Bloggers Association’s (MBA) press credentials and attend a session or two.

For blogger coverage of the Libby trial see, the post aggregator at MBA. Also see this NPR story and Google News.
