Happy Valentines Day Lashawn. I sent my wife flowers. Which I actually haven’t done in a while.

La Shawn, how the heck are we supposed to give you your Valentine’s Day hug if you’re off somewhere hiding out? ;-)

Redbeard, I suspect she is getting enough hugs and attention from someone else.

Yes! My girlfriend (of 8 months now) lives 3 hours south of me. I sent her a huge arrangement of a dozen roses that she should be getting at work any moment now :) . I also dedicated this drawing to her and we are going to celebrate celebrate together this Saturday.

Happy Valentines Day LaShawn.

Happy Valentine’s Day, La Shawn!

I’m giving you a virtual hug right now. You and your honey have a wonderful day today!

By the time I wake up, my hubby is already out the door. But I awoke to beautiful roses, a personal card, and my favorite movie on DVD sitting on the kitchen table! My day has been made. :-)

La Shawn:

I send my daughters E cards.

But my wife really loves to receive an E mail that I donated a few dollars to Heiffer International – today, some person somewhere will receivee some ducks, geese, and chicks.

It’s difficult for us as Americans to believe that a few birds can make much difference in peoples’ lives – but for many it does.

In fact, a Pakistani economist received the Nobel Peace Prize (the first sane one in a while) for arranging small loans for poor people. A few hundred dollars can turn some lives around.

Well, I no longer purposely wear black on Valentine’s Day…

Thank you for the obit on Anna Nicole. May she rest in peace and be with her son, Like Princess Diana, she brought a little humor and sunshine into our lives.

I wish I could do something special for my wife however I’ve been unemployed since August of 2006 and haven’t been able to find work since. My wife works as an adjunct professor at a local community college (which is basically a part-time position with no benefits) and applied for three full-time professor positions she qualified for but for some unknown reason she wasn’t even considered for a preliminary interview. We’ve only been on one vacation since we were married over 20 years ago and that was a trip to Savannah, GA while they were filming parts of the movie “Forest Gump.” We didn’t even have a proper honeymoon after we were married. I owe her one.

Happy Valentine’s Day! My hubby and I won’t be able to go out today, so we celebrated with dinner out last night. Nothing fancy, but very nice. This holiday always makes me think of our first Valentine’s Day as a dating couple, eons ago, when he made me a giant Valentine card that took quite a while to make. He’s given me much fancier things in the past 28 years, but that one ranks up there with the best!

My wife had a dentist appointment today. So last night I made her dinner. Chicken with mole (spicy mexican chocolate) sauce. This morning I left Godiva truffles and a card next to her pillow.

I received a Valentine card from my twin nieces. The Philly/Lansdale area received its first significant snow fall along with freezing rain. My school/child care center is closed; so I also received a day off from work.

imagine your significant other using this as an excuse for not giving you (at least) some roses/flowers.

Well my BF is an absolute sweetheart the spoils me all the time and loves to give flowers. I told him I couldn’t appreciate flowers (particularly roses) this week because of the jacked up prices. So he presented me with a beautiful bouquet of tulips, I never realized how pretty they are in a vase.

Other than that I will make him our favorite pizza with pepperoni and banana peppers open a bottle of wine, snuggle on the couch (good in this snowstorm) and watch Heroes and Lost (thank god for the DVR).

Ummm…

I’m getting a haircut.

Then I have to finish my work from home.

I took 3.5 hours today to shovel 11 inches of glacier-like snow and ice off our driveway today so my wife didn’t have to drive through it.

After her experience this morning, she enjoyed the smooth ride to the garage.

I received the absolute best Valentine of all. An e-mail from my nephew who is a Navy officer serving on a 6th Fleet ship off the coast of Iraq – he sent a picture of himself holding a sign that said “Happy Valentines Day!!!” to his wife, his mother and me!

God bless you, dear Nathan, and keep you safe. We love you.

I will state here for the record that my girl is the most beautiful of all of God’s many beautiful creations! Sun setting into the ocean in an explosion of pinks, oranges, and blues? Gorgeous. Seeing the most beautiful woman in the whole world any time, night or day, rain or shine, made-up or punked out? Even gorgeouser! :-)
