Update (4/6): The Los Angeles Times reports that killer Velazquez-Nava “pleaded guilty in 2005 in Los Angeles to a prostitution-related charge and was sentenced to two years’ probation.”
But wasn’t deported.

Robert Clark, director of “A Christmas Story,” and his 22-year-old son were killed on a California highway today. The license-less, drunken fool who killed them is named Hector Velazquez-Nava. I’m taking bets: illegal alien?

Update (4/5 @ 11:33 a.m.): An illegal alien with a record of driving while drunk killed two teenage girls last Friday. (Hat tip: Mind in the Qatar)
The waste of space and tax dollars known as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) doesn’t care about “local” issues like drunk-driving or loitering illegal aliens. Either local cops aren’t calling ICE, or they’re calling ICE and ICE doesn’t respond. I’m having difficulty understanding exactly what ICE does to justify its existence. If it isn’t carrying out federal immigration laws, what is ICE’s function?
By the way, spread the word that Mi Casita Restaurant in Virginia Beach hires illegal aliens.
Debbie Schlussel blogs about ICE quite frequently. She recently blogged about a USA Today fluff piece on ICE working with local governments to combat illegal “immigration.” She calls it what it is: BS.
