Aretha Franklin’s version of the famous operatic piece wasn’t bad, either. 
Even better was her live performance of the song at an awards show several years ago after Pavarotti had to cancel. Spine-tinglingly good. I typically don’t do awards shows and can’t remember why I decided to watch, but I was glad I did that night.
