One day very soon, preaching from certain passages of the Bible might fall under the definition of “hate speech.” It’s already happening in Canada. Why can’t it happen here?

Well, like I’ve said many times before, I can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want free speech. Even if it’s something offensive to you. For me, I’d rather someone feel free to say whatever they want, then I’ll actually know what their views are. Otherwise, they could be an extreme racist, sexist, whatever, and I’d never know.

Isn’t every crime a hate crime? What cry baby needs the extra emphasis on the word hate? Do they think it makes a crime worse? Bridget Bardot was just fined by the French government for words she wrote on her blog about Muslims. We are not too far behind this especially when pastor’s are being sent to prison for reading from the bible. I’m sure that if Obama wins, things will go south for churches. Start having groups meet in your home. The bible tells us to do this anyway but we have been lazy, letting the ‘organized church’ do everything for us.

I’m joining you in the outlaw posse LaShawn. Where are we riding off to next (LOL)? I find myself regularly offending commenters on other blogs that I read when I tell it like it is instead of as they would like it to be.

Today it was civil unions, gay marriage and both sets raising children. Uggh. I had to wash my hands after I finished typing but I dealt with it directly like I always do.

Thanks for pumping up the radical Christian fervor and be blessed. Keeping you in my prayers sister.

I agree also that we take being able to express our Christian faith for granted. I too will be an outlaw if and when sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ becomes any kind of a crime.

I think this could and probably one day will happen in this country. As you mentioned the Gospel and/or the criticism of other religions is being considered hate speech or a hate crime in other countries. What bothers me about the media in this country is when you have a crime against someone of a certain race or religion(other than Christianity)the media will automatically bring up the hate crime issue. But if someone walks into a church in Texas and starts shooting parishioners or someone shoots people at a youth ministry in Colorado, the hate issue either isn’t mentioned or is so sublime its not really considered an issue.

It’s funny, though, that some who claim not to believe in hell are offended when told they’re going to hell. Never figured that out.
If I told you that as a Sun-God worshipper you were going to an eternal suffering damnation place set aside by my Moon-God, Allah, you might not agree such and expedient environment exists, but you would recognize the venom in my sentiment and not be well pleased.

No, and this is not what I’ve communicated. My view is that conservative Christians are too closely yoked up with secular conservatives to the point of overlooking things which are an affront to the Almighty.

I have heard and seen HUNDREDS of times where so called conservative Christians swear by, for example, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Cal Thomas, Dinesh Desouza, and a host of others are examples to be followed as Christians, and I simply CANNOT TELL. They do not demonstrate interest in matters pertinent to ALL of their neighbors, especially the NON-WHITE ones. In fact, they make fun of, devalue, and are apologists for those who have goodwill towards non-whites.

For example, I have personally challenged (because I did an experiment) several hundred conservative Christians (either on forums, or by their own admission online) on why they have not and do not offer rebuff of Pat Buchanan. Pat Buchanan is a white supremacist not unlike James Webb, who are in the mold of Barry Goldwater, Trent Lott, Pat Moynihan, and Strom Thurmond. Not a single person would offer any criticism of this man, but the same people were violently assailing the incendiary banter of Jeremiah Wright, who IS a man of G-d and has done more for the poor, the sick, and the disenfranchised than ALL 6 of these men PUT TOGETHER. (Ego aside, he did prove that the WORKS of Christ should be manifest on earth, regardless of the fact that he TALKS too much!)
