Sarah Palin Hates Blacks and Jews

by La Shawn on September 25, 2008

in Comedy, Liberals, Lunacy

Alcee HastingsSo implied Congressman Alcee Hastings, an impeached former federal judge, to an audience of Jewish liberals yesterday.

According to CNN (also see this link), his exact words were (bad grammar included) “anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks…If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention.”

I’m no Sarah Palin apologist, but what Hastings’s said was race-baitingly foul, obviously. I wonder if anyone called him on it or at the very least, asked what the heck he meant. If I’d been there…It’s a strange thing to say. People who exercise their right to carry a gun and who hunt animals are racist?

Imagine a white Republican saying something similar about a black liberal candidate. Mainstream media would cover it morning, noon, and night. There’d be widespread calls for an apology and/or resignation. But they’ll treat what Hastings said as a curious news item, forgotten by day’s end.

Hastings is insignificant in the scheme of things, but I’m curious about how much grief he’ll catch for these dumb statements. You see, a double standard applies whenever blacks or other minorities or liberals make inane and insulting statements about conservatives and Republicans. Back in 2002, white liberal Thomas V. Mike Miller, president of the Maryland senate, called Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, a black Republican, an Uncle Tom and got no flak for it. Well, except from me.

Yes, double standards abound. Since I started blogging in 2003, I discovered that when black liberals denigrate black conservatives, white liberals see it as permission for them to follow suit. It’s happened to me, Condoleezza Rice, and probably every other black conservative you know about. (On a somewhat related note, a New York Times reporter interviewed me yesterday for a story on black conservatives and Republicans. I’m hoping it’ll be fair and balanced. No guarantees.)

Hastings was a federal judge when he was impeached for bribery and perjury in 1988 and convicted in 1989. Incredibly, he was elected to Congress in 1992. Is it me, or do black voters seem to have a disproportionate penchant for crooked politicians? (Hard-up much?)

I’ll be watching and waiting for impeached former federal judge Alcee Hastings to catch it for what he said yesterday. The words “waiting” “in” “vain” come to mind.

My, but that was a fine can of whoopass you opened up on him, there, LaShawn!

Racist, Idiot!

heliotrope 09.25.08 at 9:07 am

And people continue to stand behind this man because…..?

THEBIGDODDY 09.25.08 at 9:52 am

If he’s insignificant, then why does it matter?

He’s probably right, and if so, it really only matters to mostly liberals, “blacks”, and Jews…

I’m lost on this one, my sister.

Dan Phillips 09.25.08 at 9:54 am

So, I’m wondering:

When did blacks’ biggest collective problem stop being whites with a soapbox, and start being blacks with a soapbox?

THEBIGDODDY 09.25.08 at 9:55 am

Again, I say.. who is he? His past ethics have already told on him, have they not?

If every politician needs to be called out on being stank and grimy, then we’d be calling people out all day long, right?

La Shawn 09.25.08 at 9:59 am

Good one, Dan.

Melissa's Cozy Teacup 09.25.08 at 10:06 am

Your post is an, ‘ouch, hallelujah’ post.

Melissa Hastings 09.25.08 at 10:11 am

As a Hastings myself, I would have put “but what Hastings’s said was race-baitingly foul, obviously”. Sorry to pick on that s thing. I am weird about it.

I can’t believe I am related to somebody who dehumanizes conservatives.

And btw, I am so voting for McCain/Palin. Palin being added to the ticket makes it a testimony of pro-life…she keeps Trig instead of aborting him, she encourages her daughter to keep her child and loves her.

Now here is ebony and ivory playing in perfect harmony to make us all feel better…

This got me to thinking. Black Congressmen come from gerrymandered districts that “assure” a black representative. Since blacks vote Democrat almost exclusively, this makes black representatives beholden to the Democrats for the gerrymandered seat at the table and access to the pork. I could make a plantation analogy here, but I won’t. (How is that for a race card?)

But where do black Republicans come from? They make it to Congress on white votes. They make it on merit. Perhaps they will get a certain “coattail effect” from their skin color among black voters, but I suspect not much. In fact, I suspect that any black vote based on race is cancelled by white prejudice vote.

LaShawn always draws a crowd of blacks who just don’t like her conservatism. It seems that thinking for yourself and acting on your principles goes against the grain with blacks who are joined at the hip with the Democrat party and their welfare pimping agenda.

If Joe Biden did a roll call of the Congressional Black Caucus, how many “clean” and “articulate” members would he find? (Not that I know what Biden meant with the “clean and articulate” remark when Biden first made it.)

A black Republican running against a black Democrat in a black district has little chance of success. What do blacks want from the government?

THEBIGDODDY 09.25.08 at 10:38 am

So black Democrats don’t make it to congress on merit, heliotrope?

Phelps 09.25.08 at 11:05 am

Ooh, this is fun! Let’s do this for Obama and Biden!

Obama: “Anybody listening to Jay-Z and driving a 300C don’t care too much about what they do with Mexicans and corn farmers.”

Biden: “Anybody sporting hair plugs and calling black folks ‘bright and clean’ don’t care too much about what they do with Koreans and Hatians.”

Does America have any laws about slander? If an individual makes a defamatory comment about another person, then they are obliged to prove it is true, or risk prosecution, are they not. If unable to prove that their allegation is true, then they must pay compensation to their victim.
If the victims of serious allegations were to routinely seek redress, in the courts, and punitive damages were awarded, then and only then would people accept responsibility for their words.

More race baiting-serioulsy though I would expect nothing less from Hastings, a despicable character if ever there was. What an honorable guy huh ? Another shucker and jiver.

Jen in Durham 09.25.08 at 3:08 pm

Here’s the supposed explanation of what he meant, LaShawn:

After saying that Palin “don’t care too much” about Jews and blacks, Hastings argued that African Americans and Jews should come together behind Obama because there are many issues on which they agree.

“Just like Jews, blacks care about affordable health care, energy independence, and the separation of church and state,” said Hastings. “And just like blacks, Jews care about equal pay for equal work, investment in alternative energy, and a woman’s right to choose.”

Stupid people scare me and there seems to be more and more of them.

Race should have never been brought into it but politicians seem to be made up of the same kids that always wanted to take their ball and go home the first time everyone did not want to play by their rules.

We need to through them all out and start over.

D Michael 09.25.08 at 3:27 pm

ALCEE L. HASTINGS…typical racist liberal. What else would expect?

eaglewingz08 09.25.08 at 3:32 pm

These statements by Alcee Hastings are reprehensible and are again along the lines of the Obamanation’s statements that small town folks are racist, xenophobic, bitter gun clinging bible thumping rednecks who have false consciousness. The fact that the audience laughed is a testament to their mental depravity. I would hazard a guess that Sarah Palin’s love of Israel and the Jewish people greatly exceed Rep Hastings’ and the Congressional Black Caucus’.

I also remember that when Michael Steele ran for Governor he had oreos thrown at him at nearly every appearance by ‘enlightened’ liberals, yet not one incident of such behavoir by conservatives against the Obamanation. Who’s racist?

#11 THEBIGDODDY asks

So black Democrats don’t make it to congress on merit, heliotrope?

Sure, if black skin and being a Democrat in a gerrymandered black district is “merit.” For someone obsessed with skin color, you certainly must know that. It is all about race and belonging to the Democrat party. Blacks in gerrymandered districts elect black Democrats. Get it? Race and party affiliation. No Irish need apply. 1+1=2. Race and party affiliation. What more is to be said?

I ask again, what do blacks want from the government?

Steve Harvey 09.25.08 at 8:34 pm

Hastings is a typical teflon bigot. He thinks being black gives him some special immunity from being label a racist.

THEBIGDODDY 09.25.08 at 9:23 pm

heliotrope,

You come and go, and never fail to show your true colors, sir. :)

Obsessed with skin color, huh?

Plus, you’re asking ME what “blacks” want from government? I guess it depends on which “blacks” you’re talking about.

Trish 09.25.08 at 11:25 pm

Heliotrope–

“You can’t talk to a man
When he don’t wanna understand. . .”

THEBIGDODDY 09.25.08 at 11:37 pm

What heliotrope is describing is nothing new or different than the way the rest of America already operates..so what’s new?

My point was on his racialist view that when whites approve of something it’s merited. So there is never any favoritism, nepotism, or any other such thing at play that is used as a fulcrum for them validating congressional candidates, executives, or any other vetting process?

It’s not that I don’t wanna understand, it’s just that he should spit it out. It’s not like its going to be that big of a surprise.

Tyrone 09.26.08 at 12:07 am

This is just another example why I loath the Congressional Black Caucus. The so called black leadership in America are nothing more then a bunch of manipulative, lying, loonbats. I guess it never occured to him that blacks and jews are hunters too. Does that mean they hate themselves for being hunters? It’s one thing to have a ridiculous case of the “SPODS” aka Sarah Palin Obsession Disorder Syndrome, but it’s another to try and label her a racist and anti semite simply for being a hunter. Hastings is a moron and a disgrace.

Purple Raider 09.26.08 at 12:19 am

“So black Democrats don’t make it to congress on merit, heliotrope?”

For the most part, no. There are some Blacks elected on merit.

But I’ll bet you dollars to donuts none of the blacks elected to Congress on merit have a “D” next to their name.

As far as Alcee Hastings go, this man should still be in prison, not a member of congress.

“Is it me, or do black voters seem to have a disproportionate penchant for crooked politicians? (Hard-up much?)”

Sadly, yes.

THEBIGDODDY 09.26.08 at 12:30 am

But aren’t “black” conservatives “black voters” too? That’s a stupid thing to say.

AMERICANS support less than virtuous people in every area of people activity ESPECIALLY religion and politics, BLACK and WHITE equally. None better or worse than the other.

One day you guys will realize that very few politicians are virtuous, and people, in general, fall in line in that deficiency as well.

Melissa Hastings 09.26.08 at 1:20 am

Oh my gosh, I found a typo without realizing it!

:D sorry, this just astounded me!

Mark Folkestad 09.26.08 at 6:49 am

I’m amazed that the House of Representatives allowed Hastings to be seated. The man is a disgrace. I’m still trying to figure out what he meant by “stripping moose”. I’ve been a hunter for more than forty years, and I’ve never heard that. Perhaps he meant to say gutting or skinning, but I learned long ago to mistrust anything Alcee Hastings says or does. I certainly hope that he didn’t mean making poor moose perform on the runway at a nudie bar!

Kathy 09.26.08 at 10:50 am

Constitutional amendment with term limits for senators and congressmen anyone???

This is the only way I can see to fight the long-standing corruption in congress and eradicate the constant campaigning of the “whatever it take to keep my seat” mentality. Then maybe we will elect Americans of all races and both genders on the merit of their desire to actually serve the American people and not their selfish desires for power/prestige.

My term limits proposal:
2 consecutive 6-year terms for senators
3 consecutive 2-year terms for congressman

It seems to me that term limits on the presidency is one of the reasons that corruption has not run rampant in that office. The framers of the constitution clearly wanted to protect this country from the development of a “ruling class.” They also viewed Senators and Congressman as servants who would give up a few to several years of their lives to “serve” in congress and then go back to their families and livelihoods. Unfortunatley, without setting down term limits for our legislators, the very “ruling class” they abhorred is now entrenched.

THEBIGDODDY 09.26.08 at 12:05 pm

I agree with Kathy.

Gayle Miller 09.26.08 at 12:26 pm

What Rep. Hastings said is both slanderous and just plain WRONG. It is bigotry and hate speech of the worst kind and clearly has nothing whatsoever to do with anything other than Rep. Hastings disgusting thought processes.

And while it would have been nice if some Dem somewhere had demanded his apology and retraction of such inflammatory hate speech (certainly if he had been a Republican talking that way – it would have been demanded BY REPUBLICANS that he resign forthwith) – clearly that isn’t going to happen.

Why DO the people of his district continue to send him to Congress? Shouldn’t there be a mental health prerequisite?

Trish 09.27.08 at 12:08 am

Kathy–
Term limits on legislators is a good idea, but it’s never going to happen. I’ve been a supporter of term limits for over two decades. Every time such an amendment is proposed, the legislators drag out that old “changing horses in the middle of the stream” business, and cite Lincoln and Churchill in their defense(never mind that they have put term limits on Lincoln’s office). It isn’t going to get done, and more’s the pity.
