For birds, nest building is instinctive. Before she lays her eggs, the bird builds a safe place (relatively speaking – a front door wreath? Risky, but you get the point) for her eggs. I wish nest building were instinctive for human females. The nest building comes first, then the babies. Nest building, then babies.
